Background and Foundation
The Department of Sanskrit was established in 2007, offering B.A. General Programs and in 2008 B.A. Honours Programs, with permission granted by Vidyasagar University to encourage rural students in this region to study Sanskrit language and literature. Sanskrit as a subject we offer a wide range of career opportunities, especially for students who are passionate about language, literature, culture, and history. Our department focuses on traditional Sanskrit studies, including grammar (Vyakarana), literature (Sahitya), and philosophy (Darshana), aiming to preserve and disseminate India's rich cultural and linguistic heritage.
