At Sankrail Anil Biswas Smriti Mahavidyalaya, education is not merely the transmission of knowledge but the empowerment of every learner, regardless of their academic background. Recognizing that a significant proportion of our students are first-generation learners from marginalized, tribal, and rural communities, the college has implemented a structured Remedial Coaching Programme to ensure academic inclusivity and equity.
The Remedial Coaching initiative aims to bridge learning gaps, enhance foundational understanding, and build academic confidence among students who may struggle to cope with regular coursework due to socio-economic disadvantages, linguistic barriers, or lack of prior academic exposure.
Objectives:
- To provide additional academic support to slow and disadvantaged learners.
- To strengthen fundamental concepts and study skills in key subjects.
- To improve pass percentages and reduce dropout rates.
- To help students gain confidence in facing internal and university examinations.
- To make education more inclusive, accessible, and outcome-oriented.
Target Beneficiaries:
- SC/ST/OBC and Minority students
- First-generation learners
- Economically backward students
- Students with below-average performance in internal assessments
- Learners needing support in English, core Arts subjects, and NEP-based multidisciplinary curriculum
Structure & Delivery:
- Classes held before or after regular class hours to avoid disruption of mainstream academic routine.
- Small batch size to ensure personal attention.
- Flexible module design based on diagnostic assessments or teacher referrals.
- Use of simplified study materials, bilingual instruction, and interactive learning methods.
- Mentorship and progress monitoring by assigned faculty members.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Periodic evaluation of student progress through short tests and assignments.
- Maintenance of attendance and performance records by each department.
- Feedback mechanism for students to express their difficulties and suggestions.
- Report submission to the IQAC and remedial coordination committee.
For enrolment in Remedial Coaching, students may contact their respective Heads of Departments or the Remedial Programme Coordinator. Notices regarding schedules, subjects, and faculty will be posted on the college website and departmental notice boards.
