Administrative Committees

Sankrail Anil Biswas Smriti Mahavidyalaya operates with a robust framework of Administrative Committees to ensure smooth functioning, transparent governance, and comprehensive support for students, faculty, and staff. These committees, constituted under the guidance of the Governing Body and in alignment with Vidyasagar University regulations, play a pivotal role in managing academic, administrative, and extracurricular activities. Comprising faculty, non-teaching staff, and occasionally student representatives, these committees uphold the college’s vision of “Include, Ignite, Innovate” and its mission to foster quality education and holistic development.

Key Administrative Committees

  1. Academic Committee
    • Purpose: Oversees curriculum implementation, academic calendar preparation, and teaching-learning processes.
    • Responsibilities: Monitors adherence to NEP 2020 and CBCS guidelines, coordinates internal assessments, promotes ICT-enabled teaching and other academic related activities .
  2. Admission Committee
    • Purpose: Manages the online admission process to ensure fairness and transparency
    • Responsibilities: Verifies eligibility, oversees merit-based admissions, and facilitates scholarship applications for students.
  3. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
    • Purpose: Enhances and sustains quality in academic and administrative performance.
    • Responsibilities: The role involves framing and implementing both the academic calendar and administrative infrastructure, promoting effective teaching-learning practices, and preparing key institutional reports such as AQAR and SSR for NAAC accreditation. It includes encouraging the use of audiovisual aids and ICT in teaching, motivating faculty to engage in continuous professional development through Orientation Programs, Refresher Courses, FDPs, Workshops, and Summer/Winter Schools, and supporting their involvement in research, publications, and presentations at national and international academic events. Additionally, it emphasizes enhancing the internal evaluation process, assisting departments in organizing workshops, seminars, educational tours, field studies, tutorial and remedial classes, analyzing examination outcomes for academic improvement, and fostering seminar presentations by both faculty and students.
    • Composition : Chaired by the Teacher-in-Charge, with a senior teacher as IQAC Coordinator, and includes faculty, administrative officers, and representatives from local society, students, and alumni.
  4. Finance Committee
    • Purpose : Ensures prudent financial management and resource allocation.
    • Responsibilities : Prepares budgets, monitors expenditure, and oversees funding for infrastructure and academic initiatives.
  5. Examination Committee
    • Purpose : Coordinates internal and university examinations.
    • Responsibilities : Schedules exams, ensures adherence to evaluation protocols, and manages result compilation and grievance redressal related to assessments.
  6. Anti-Ragging Committee :
    • Purpose : Maintains a ragging-free campus in compliance with Supreme Court directives.
    • Responsibilities : Addresses complaints, conducts awareness programs, and enforces strict anti-ragging policies.
  7. Grievance Redressal Committee
    • Purpose : Provides a platform for addressing student, faculty, and staff grievances.
    • Responsibilities : Resolves issues related to academics, facilities, or interpersonal conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  8. Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
    • Purpose : Ensures a safe and inclusive environment, particularly for women.
    • Responsibilities : Addresses complaints of harassment or discrimination, promoting gender equity and safety.
  9. Career Counselling and Psychological Counselling Committee
    • Purpose : : Supports students' academic, professional, and mental well-being.
    • Responsibilities : Organizes career workshops, skill development sessions, and counseling to address psychological challenges.
  10. NSS Advisory Committee
    • Purpose : Guides the activities of the four NSS units to promote community service.
    • Responsibilities : Plans and monitors NSS initiatives, such as village adoption programs, health drives, and environmental campaigns.
  11. Library Committee
    • Purpose : Enhances library services and resource accessibility.
    • Responsibilities : Oversees book acquisitions, digitization efforts, and user orientation programs to support academic and research needs.
  12. Equal Opportunity Cell
    • Purpose : Promotes inclusivity and equity for all students, especially those from marginalized communities.
    • Responsibilities : Addresses concerns related to discrimination and ensures equal access to opportunities.
  13. S.C./S.T./O.B.C. Cell
    • Purpose : Supports students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
    • Responsibilities : : Facilitates scholarships, addresses specific grievances, and promotes their academic and social inclusion.
