The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Sankrail Anil Biswas Smriti Mahavidyalaya is a flagship program dedicated to fostering social responsibility, leadership, and community engagement among students. Guided by the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” the unit empowers students—many of whom are first-generation learners from rural and tribal backgrounds in Jungle Mahal, Jhargram—to contribute to societal development through meaningful service. The NSS unit plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world impact, focusing on environmental sustainability, health, education, and community welfare in adopted villages. This section provides a comprehensive overview of the NSS program, detailing its objectives, activities, organizational structure, participation mechanisms, achievements, facilities, and future aspirations, ensuring transparency and encouraging active student involvement.

i. Objectives

The two NSS units- NSS Unit-I and NSS Unit-II operate with a clear set of objectives that align with the national NSS framework and the college’s mission to serve rural communities.
