Background and Foundation
The Department of Philosophy was established in 2007 with B.A. General course. Formerly the course continued under the U.G. 1+1+1 system catering a huge number of students and it is a very popular course among students. It then continued under the C.B.C.S system and presently it is following a Multidisciplinary Course under the new NEP System. The department tries to inculcate the moral and social values in the students of the college and to enhance their reasoning ability and rational faculty.
The Department is proud to be associated with excellent students and faculty members. Our graduate program produces comprehensive knowledge in different branches of the subject with a well-balanced proportion of diverse concerns of contemporary philosophy and cultivating synchronization between traditions and modern thought for our students to become dedicated, responsible and help them build careers in the world of academics and mass communication.
Highlights
- It has a good collection of books (about 700) in the Central Library and in the Departmental Library.
- The department regularly organizes seminars, workshops.
- The department runs a Psychological Counseling Cell for advising students of the college on personality disorders, phobia and complexes, reducing the level of delinquency and for clearing away the psychological hurdles for smooth academic progress
